When times get tough...
It’s been said that when times get tough, you find out who your true friends are. They’re the ones that stick by you and do what they can to see you through. You quickly learn whom you can rely on, and who’s just in it for convenience or selfish reasons of their own. When we needed them today, the family came through - shredded some meat, made some sauce, cut some potatoes, wash some dishes, scrub some tables & floors, made deliveries... It was a really busy day but it was nice having the kids pitch in!

Storing Bananas
Simple Tips for the Kitchen - Don’t store your bananas in a bunch or in a fruit bowl with other fruits. Separate your bananas and place each in a different location. Bananas release gases which cause fruits (including other bananas) to ripen quickly. Separating them will keep them fresh longer.

Jefferson Street Clean Up
These are pictures of the guys cleaning up around Jefferson street... I had them move the old Honey Bear's box truck that has all flat tires and doesn't run to a different spot in the yard. Then they had to move some of the grills and line them up in a neat row. I am pretty sure they have labeled me as the "slave driver" but just wait until they see the list of things I have lined up for them next week.

Barbecued Van
Early morning fire at Honey Bear's BBQ on Central... well if you missed the news this morning or have been hearing the word fire used in reference to Honey Bear's, it wasn't because we were barbecuing meat at 1:30am this morning, at least not this time. Nope, it appears that we were barbecuing one of our delivery vans. The battery sparked causing an electrical fire and the rest, like the van is history.
